Warranty
Registration: Parts cover drops to 5 years. Online registration within 60 days of installation is needed for 10-year parts and for any unit-replacement cover (5-year unit replacement on GZV9S, GZV7S and GLZT7C; none listed on GLZS4B). Registration can't be required in California, Florida (installs from July 1, 2024) or Georgia (installs from January 1, 2026). Compressor is covered as a part; a one-time compressor replacement for years 11-99 is offered only through an ASURE extended service plan.
Labour: Not covered: the limited warranty supplies the replacement part only; labour, freight and other service costs are excluded.
The same certificate covers Canada: 5 years on parts if not registered online within 60 days. Registration is not required in Quebec, where product pages also state a 6-year 'Quebec Warranty of Good Working Order'.

- 2024 recall of Goodman SD inverter heat pumps (GSZS6 models sold May 2022 to April 2024): a power interruption could make the unit heat when cooling is set; fix is a software update (CPSC 24-286)
- Unit replacement is 5 years on current Goodman models versus 10 years on Amana equivalents; the 'lifetime compressor' wording on Goodman's learning-center page does not appear on any current R-32 heat pump page reviewed
Which rebates Goodman models fit
Every model in these tables is ENERGY STAR certified, which is the federal equipment rule for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates where your state runs them. 33 Goodman outdoor models also meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which several utility programs require. The 25C tax credit ended for heat pumps placed in service after December 31, 2025.
