Warranty
Registration: Parts cover drops to 5 years. Online registration within 60 days is needed for the 12-year parts term and, on DH9VS/DH7VS/DH6VS/DH7TC, a 12-year unit replacement term (6 years on DH5SE/DH4SE, none on DH4SQ; unit replacement also requires annual maintenance). Daikin's DH9VS spec sheet says online registration is not required in California, Florida or Québec.
Labour: None: Daikin does not pay labour, freight or installation of replacement parts
Same certificates cover units installed in Canada: 5-year parts if not registered within 60 days. Québec residents need not register (DH9VS spec sheet), and Daikin product pages state “Quebec Warranty of Good Working Order: 6 Years.”

- No warranty on Daikin equipment bought online unless a dealer installs it to code (Daikin warranty page)
- Unit replacement cover needs annual maintenance and differs by model (12, 6 or none)
- Canada: ENERGY STAR still lists R-410A Daikin models (e.g. DZ6VS, DZ7TC, DZ5SE, OTERRA R-410A) certified in 2026, mostly for the Canadian market; Daikin also says it “does not guarantee the availability” of replacement parts or repair services for products in Quebec
Which rebates Daikin models fit
Every model in these tables is ENERGY STAR certified, which is the federal equipment rule for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates where your state runs them. 49 Daikin outdoor models also meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which several utility programs require. The 25C tax credit ended for heat pumps placed in service after December 31, 2025.
