Warranty
Registration: 5 years (parts and compressor) if not registered within 90 days of installation. Where law bars tying the warranty to registration, the 10-year parts warranty applies automatically. Value-tier ductless gets only a 5-year parts warranty.
Labour: Optional 'Consumer Choice' warranty: on eligible equipment the owner can choose 5-year parts + 3-year labour instead of 10-year parts-only. It must be chosen within 90 days of installation and only through a participating dealer. Otherwise labour is excluded.
5 years if not registered within 90 days. Registration isn't required in Quebec, where Carrier says heat pumps also carry a 6-year legal warranty of good working order under the Consumer Protection Act.

- Cold-climate ducted model: the Infinity 21 (27VNA1) is rated for 100% heating capacity down to 5°F and heating operation to -23°F (Carrier product data, ed. 09/25)
- Maker-backed labour option: the Consumer Choice warranty offers 5-year parts + 3-year labour through participating dealers (Carrier warranty page)
- Infinity 23 and 21 condensers carry a 10-year unit-replacement limited warranty for the original owner with registration (certificate ACHPVS-C454-02WAR, ed. 08/26)
- Wide range: ducted, ductless (Infinity 35 heats to -22°F), multi-zone (116% capacity at 5°F claim) and an air-to-water heat pump with domestic hot water (Carrier pages)
Watch-outs
- Register within 90 days or parts and compressor cover drops from 10 to 5 years (except where law bars the condition, such as Quebec)
- Value-tier ductless systems get only a 5-year parts warranty (Carrier warranty page)
- The 3-year labour option needs a participating Consumer Choice dealer and costs 5 years of parts cover
- Carrier's own figures for the 27VNA1 full-capacity point disagree: product data says 100% at 5°F, but the June 2025 release and the Canadian page say 0°F
Which rebates Carrier models fit
Every model in these tables is ENERGY STAR certified, which is the federal equipment rule for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates where your state runs them. 123 Carrier outdoor models also meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which several utility programs require. The 25C tax credit ended for heat pumps placed in service after December 31, 2025.
