- ENERGY STAR lists hundreds of R-454B DuraSTAR combinations, including many Cold Climate ducted (DRU) and mini-split (DRA) systems
Watch-outs
- The official DuraSTAR site (durastarhvac.com) couldn't be read, so warranty terms, marketed line names and low-temperature claims aren't confirmed
- Several DuraSTAR mini-split series are still certified with R-410A (DRA1-DRA5). Confirm a current A2L model.
Which rebates DuraSTAR models fit
Every model in these tables is ENERGY STAR certified, which is the federal equipment rule for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates where your state runs them. 54 DuraSTAR outdoor models also meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which several utility programs require. The 25C tax credit ended for heat pumps placed in service after December 31, 2025.
