Strengths
- WindFree Max Heat: 100% heating performance at 5°F and high heating output at -22°F (Samsung)
- Broad lineup: single-zone, FJM multi-zone, Hylex ducted heat pump that can pair with a gas furnace, and EHS Mono HT air-to-water (to -22°F)
- The same hardware is sold through Lennox dealers as “Lennox mini-splits Powered by Samsung” (Lennox site)
Watch-outs
- The enhanced warranty needs registration within 60 days of installation (90 days for Preferred and Preferred Plus dealers); Samsung's pages say only “10 Year Warranty Product Registration Required. Conditions Apply.” and publish no unregistered terms or parts/compressor split
- No Samsung Canadian HVAC site or Canadian warranty terms were found; check Canadian coverage with the installer
- Mixed refrigerants: ductless lines are R-32 but Hylex ducted units are R-454B (older Hylex R-410A versions are also still ENERGY STAR-listed); the air handler page tags R-410A while its text says R32
Which rebates Samsung models fit
57 Samsung outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027.
