Home energy audits in Newfoundland & Labrador

Newfoundland and Labrador's programs grew in 2026: takeCHARGE's Oil to Electric program pays up to $9,000 toward a central heat pump replacing oil ($22,000 if income-qualified), insulation rebates reach $3,000 in electrically heated homes, and a new no-cost program for income-eligible homes covers projects completed after October 5, 2026.

The housing stock, read like an auditor

St. John's rowhouses and wood-frame stock built long before insulation codes, outport homes facing open-Atlantic weather, and Labrador's subarctic conditions. Electric baseboard's big share makes heat pump math simple on the island grid.
