Fujitsu at a glance

Who owns it
GENERAL Inc. (formerly Fujitsu General Ltd., renamed January 1, 2026), now a member of the Paloma Rheem group (Paloma Rheem Holdings, Japan, parent of Rheem). Paloma Rheem's tender offer settled June 5, 2025 (46.56% of voting rights; Fujitsu Ltd's 44.02% stake was excluded, and the deal plan had the company buy it back so Paloma Rheem would own 100%). The shares were delisted in August 2025, and on Aug 22, 2025 the company said it had completed the procedures. The US distributor Fujitsu General America became GENERAL HVAC Solutions America, Inc. (GHSA).

Registration: Same statement as the US (it names the US and Canada): standard 5-year parts and 7-year compressor; 10 years with online registration within 60 days, 12 years with a Fujitsu Elite Contractor. Quebec residents need not register for standard coverage.

Labour: None

Warranty terms (media.airstagehvac.com) ↗

For comparison: in the US 10-year parts, 10-year compressor

Standard 5-year parts and 7-year compressor. Online registration within 60 days of installation is needed for the 10-year terms (12 years if a Fujitsu Elite Contractor installs it). Standard coverage needs no registration in California, Florida, Georgia or Quebec.

Strengths and watch-outs

Strengths

  • Strong cold-climate flagship: Orion XLTH+ heats to -22°F (-30°C) “without sacrificing heating capacity” (maker claim)
  • 10-year parts and compressor with 60-day online registration, 12 years with a Fujitsu Elite Contractor (R-32 H-Series statement, Oct 2025)
  • R-32 across the new AIRSTAGE ductless lineup (maker statement; ENERGY STAR lists AIRSTAGE H-series as R-32 for the US and Canada)
  • Now in the same group as Rheem; Fujitsu says it has supplied and co-developed products with Rheem in North America since 2016

Watch-outs

  • Brand in transition: the company became GENERAL Inc. on Jan 1, 2026 and says it will “gradually and smoothly transition the FUJITSU brand overseas”; the residential line is now sold as Fujitsu AIRSTAGE (Orion, Altair, Aquila), and 'Halcyon' survives only in legacy page paths and the R-410A warranty file
  • The warranty excludes systems bought from online retailers or through liquidation or closeout
  • Unregistered systems keep only 5-year parts / 7-year compressor (60-day registration window)
  • Older R-410A H-Series and J-Series units are covered only if installed before 2028

Which rebates Fujitsu models fit

84 Fujitsu outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027. Check the exact pairing on NRCan's list ↗.

92 models meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which earns Quebec's higher LogisVert rate. BC uses its own qualified list. Rebate rules by province:
