Warranty
Registration: GREE Ontario: compressor 10 years, fan motor 5 years, all other parts 1 year
Standard residential warranty of 5 years parts / 7 years compressor still applies (registration 'highly recommended'). The 10-year parts and compressor extension needs installation by a (previous) GREE Select dealer plus registration within 60 days; the 2021 warranty statement says 90 days.

- Cold-weather central option: FLEXX ULTRA R32 claims 100% heating capacity at 5°F and heats down to -22°F
- Strong registered warranty in Ontario: 10 years on parts and compressor, and the compressor keeps 10 years even if the unit isn't registered (GREE Ontario statement)
Watch-outs
- Two separate GREE programs operate in the US in 2026 (GREE Comfort and Gree Climate Solutions LLC), each with its own lines and warranty. Confirm which one a quote falls under.
- US 10-year coverage requires a (previous) GREE Select dealer install plus registration within 60 days. Otherwise it's 5 years parts / 7 years compressor, and labour is never covered.
- Warranty requires installation by a licensed contractor (2025 catalog: 'licensed contractor installation required for Warranty Coverage'), so a DIY install isn't covered
- Canadian terms depend on the regional distributor (GREE Ontario, Airtek Canada, Sunrise Tradex). An unregistered GREE Ontario unit gets only 1 year on most parts.
Which rebates Gree models fit
496 Gree outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027.
