Innovair, Stelpro, Dettson and Ouellet is made by Innovair Solutions (L'Islet, Quebec), the former Ouellet Group, renamed in January 2023. ENERGY STAR lists 218 Innovair, Stelpro, Dettson and Ouellet outdoor models certified for Canada, 207 of them cold-climate, and its best certified pairing heats at a COP of 2.80 at −15°C (5°F).

Registration: Dettson (Canadian seller) says registration isn't required; the serial number or installation date serves as proof
Labour: Not covered
Registration: Not covered: 'The Product must be registered within 30 days of installation to be covered by this warranty.' Quebec residents are exempt.
Labour: Not included; an optional 10-year parts-and-labour warranty (condenser replaced if the compressor fails) must be registered and paid within 30 days of installation
Registration: Dettson's warranty page says registration isn't required (serial number or installation date is proof). The same page also says registering Gree products adds 2 years, which the Gree warranty PDF doesn't mention.
Labour: Not covered; the warranty can be voided by improper installation or skipped annual maintenance
Registration: Not covered: the product must be installed by a certified Ouellet installer and registered within 30 days of installation. Quebec residents are exempt but need the invoice for claims.
Labour: Not included. Optional parts-and-labour warranty for years 0-10: C$330 (1 indoor unit) to C$1,260 (6 units), C$520 for a central system; a years 7-10 option costs C$249-949 (2026 price sheet). It must be registered and paid within 30 days of installation.
Strengths and watch-outs
Strengths
- Every current line from the four brands carries a 10-year parts and 10-year compressor base warranty (each brand's 2026 warranty documents)
- Stelpro Elite B is listed ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, with heating COPs published down to -25°C (Stelpro)
- Quebec-based group with Canadian support, and Dettson pairs its heat pumps with its own furnaces for hybrid systems
- Innovair M4+ and Slim4+ are sold in Canada through Dettson with claimed performance down to -30°C (Dettson)
Watch-outs
- Registration rules differ by brand: Stelpro and Ouellet require registration within 30 days outside Quebec or there is no warranty; Innovair's US card says 60 days; Dettson says registration isn't required
- Ouellet must be installed by a certified Ouellet installer, and its R32 pages publish no low-temperature ratings
- Dettson doesn't sell its own-design heat pumps in 2026: its line-up is Innovair and Gree units
- Labour isn't covered by any of the four base warranties; Stelpro and Ouellet sell optional labour plans that must be bought within 30 days
Which rebates Innovair, Stelpro, Dettson and Ouellet models fit
207 Innovair, Stelpro, Dettson and Ouellet outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027.
