Oil to Heat Pump Affordability program (OHPA) (closed)
Also called: Oil to Heat Pump Affordability
A federal grant for switching from oil heating to a heat pump; applications closed July 31, 2026, and final paperwork is due Jan 31, 2027.
What it means
OHPA offered up to $10,000 where the federal government delivered it alone, and up to $25,000 in grants or direct installation where it was co-delivered with a province, plus a $250 incentive in co-delivered areas. Applications submitted by July 31, 2026 are still being processed, and the program is transitioning to ECCC.
Why it matters in an audit
Oil-heated homes now need to look to CGHAP (if income-eligible) or provincial programs; if you applied in time, watch the Jan 31, 2027 deadline for receipts and the attestation form.
