ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America)

The US trade association for heating and cooling contractors that publishes the standard Manual J, S and D methods for sizing systems and ducts.

What it means

ACCA publishes ANSI-recognized standards that US codes and rebate programs point to: Manual J for heating and cooling loads, Manual S for equipment selection and Manual D for duct design. It also co-sponsors ASHRAE's Standard 211 for commercial building energy audits.

Why it matters in an audit

When a quote or rebate rule mentions ACCA, the contractor should follow these published sizing methods, so ask to see the calculations.
