Watch-outs
- Not really DIY: product pages say R-454B units must be installed and commissioned by a qualified professional, and senville.com says 'DIY installation will void your warranty coverage'
- Parts covered for only 5 years (Leto: compressor also 5 years), and labour is never covered
- Leto is a standard unit rated only to -15 °C (5 °F); not suitable as primary heat in cold regions
- Buyer arranges their own installer, and Senville doesn't disclose where its units are made
Which rebates Senville models fit
38 Senville outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027.
