Warranty

In Canada 10-year parts, 10-year compressor

Registration: The same certificate covers Canada: 5 years on parts if not registered online within 60 days. Registration is not required in Quebec, where product pages also state a 6-year 'Quebec Warranty of Good Working Order'.

Labour: Not covered: part only; labour, freight and service costs excluded.

Warranty terms (library.daikincity.com) ↗

For comparison: in the US 10-year parts, 10-year compressor

Parts cover drops to 5 years. Online registration within 60 days of installation is needed for 10-year parts and for any unit-replacement cover (5-year unit replacement on GZV9S, GZV7S and GLZT7C; none listed on GLZS4B). Registration can't be required in California, Florida (installs from July 1, 2024) or Georgia (installs from January 1, 2026). Compressor is covered as a part; a one-time compressor replacement for years 11-99 is offered only through an ASURE extended service plan.

Strengths and watch-outs

Strengths

  • R-32 refrigerant across the 2026 ducted lineup, including inverter side-discharge models (Goodman heat pump pages)
  • 10-year parts with registration, plus 5-year unit replacement on GZV9S, GZV7S and GLZT7C (product pages)
  • Value positioning, with assembly at Daikin's Texas manufacturing campus (Goodman about and plant-location pages)
  • One certificate covers the US and Canada; registration-free cover in California, Florida, Georgia and Quebec (warranty-information page, updated January 2026)

Watch-outs

  • Register online within 60 days or parts cover falls to 5 years (Goodman/Daikin certificate PWGACHPR3BODA, 11/2025)
  • No warranty on equipment consumers buy over the internet unless a dealer installs it to code (goodmanmfg.com internet-purchases policy)
  • 2024 recall of Goodman SD inverter heat pumps (GSZS6 models sold May 2022 to April 2024): a power interruption could make the unit heat when cooling is set; fix is a software update (CPSC 24-286)
  • Unit replacement is 5 years on current Goodman models versus 10 years on Amana equivalents; the 'lifetime compressor' wording on Goodman's learning-center page does not appear on any current R-32 heat pump page reviewed

Which rebates Goodman models fit

37 Goodman outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027. Check the exact pairing on NRCan's list ↗.

33 models meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which earns Quebec's higher LogisVert rate. BC uses its own qualified list. Rebate rules by province:
