Amana at a glance

- Daikin Industries, Ltd. (Japan), through Daikin Comfort Technologies North America. No ownership change found for 2024-2026.
- Sister brands
- Goodman, Daikin
- Headquarters
- Osaka, Japan (Daikin Industries); North American operations in Houston/Waller, Texas, USA
- Where it's made
- Amana says its products are 'all designed, engineered, and assembled in the U.S.A.', but the 2024 recall notice lists the recalled Amana S-series inverter heat pumps as made in the United States and Thailand. Amana PTAC units are 'Designed and assembled in the USA' (PTAC brochure, 09-2025).

Warranty
Registration: 5-year parts if not registered online within 60 days. Registration not required in Quebec, where product pages state a 6-year 'Quebec Warranty of Good Working Order'.
5-year parts limited warranty. Online registration within 60 days of installation is needed for 10-year parts and the 10-Year Unit Replacement Limited Warranty (AZV9S, AZV7S, AZV6S, ALZT7C, ALZS5B; not ALZS4B/ALZS4N). Registered cover lasts while the original registered owner or spouse owns and lives in the home. Registration not required in California, Florida, Georgia or Quebec.
Strengths and watch-outs
Strengths
- 10-year unit replacement (registered) on most R-32 heat pumps, versus 5 years on Goodman equivalents (Amana and Goodman product pages)
- AZV9S met the DOE Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge and is rated to heat down to -20°F (spec sheet SS-AZV9S-R32, 09/25)
- Optional one-time unit and compressor replacement for years 11-99 through an ASURE Extended Service Plan (Amana brochures)
- R-32 across the current heat pump lineup (Amana brochure PF-A_HP_04-25)
Watch-outs
- 'Lifetime unit replacement' is legacy wording: it appears on older R-410A pages (e.g., ASZH5) and the learning-center page, while current R-32 heat pumps carry a 10-year unit replacement; cover beyond year 10 needs an ASURE extended service plan
- Unit replacement needs online registration within 60 days (outside CA, FL, GA and Quebec) and applies only while the original registered owner or spouse owns and lives in the home
- 2024 recall of Amana S-series ASZS6 inverter heat pumps sold May 2022 to April 2024; fix is a software update (CPSC 24-286)
- No Amana-branded ductless line: amana-hac.com's ductless link goes to Daikin's site
Which rebates Amana models fit
15 Amana outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027. Check the exact pairing on NRCan's list ↗.
14 models meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which earns Quebec's higher LogisVert rate. BC uses its own qualified list. Rebate rules by province:
