Warranty
Registration: Same Luxaire terms (5-year parts if not registered within 90 days); registration not required in Quebec. No separate Canadian certificate found; Coleman not verified.
Luxaire: register online within 90 days of installation (not required in California or Quebec) or warranties revert to 5-year parts and a standard 5- or 10-year compressor term. Registered Acclimate split systems carry a lifetime compressor limited warranty; XH9 and XH6 list a 10-year compressor. Coleman terms not verified.
Strengths and watch-outs
Strengths
- Luxaire XH9 claims full nominal capacity at 5°F and operation down to -10°F (product page)
- Registration not required in California or Quebec (Luxaire warranties page)
- Same HH8 and HMH7 side/horizontal-discharge models are listed by both Luxaire and York (product listings)
- 10-year parts and compressor with registration on current R-454B models (product pages)
Watch-outs
- colemanac.com redirected to a Johnson Controls IT-maintenance page on October 19, 2026, so Coleman models and terms couldn't be checked; confirm with the dealer
- Champion and Fraser-Johnston sites couldn't be read and Guardian and Evcon weren't checked, so their current status isn't confirmed
- Luxaire still lists older models rated in SEER (e.g., TE4, TH16) alongside R-454B ones; confirm refrigerant on quotes
- Register within 90 days (except California and Quebec) or parts fall to 5 years
Which rebates Coleman and Luxaire models fit
37 Coleman and Luxaire outdoor models meet the cold-climate numbers NRCan publishes for its Eligible Products List (COP of at least 1.8 at −15°C at full output, 70% of rated capacity, a variable-speed compressor) on their ENERGY STAR ratings. That list decides Ontario's Home Renovation Savings rebate, Manitoba's, New Brunswick's, Yukon's and Newfoundland and Labrador's, and the federal National Heat Pump Rebate expected in early 2027. Check the exact pairing on NRCan's list ↗.
42 models meet ENERGY STAR Cold Climate, which earns Quebec's higher LogisVert rate. BC uses its own qualified list. Rebate rules by province:
