We winterized a cottage in Innisfil — where do we start?
With the blower door: converted cottages leak in places house-brains don't think of (floor systems, crawlspace hatches, knee walls). Sealing plus floor/crawlspace insulation usually beats wall work, and the audit sequences it before you buy a bigger furnace you won't need.
Do heat pumps handle Collingwood-area winters?
Cold-climate units sized from a real heat-loss calculation do — the area's failures are almost all sizing and installation failures. Insist on the CSA F280 calc; it's the difference between a success story and a Facebook complaint.
