Every picture on this site is an editorial-style illustration generated for it; none shows a real customer, a specific home or any listed provider, and the infrared views are illustrative, not measurements. The data drawings and the facts on each page come from the public sources listed here. If a credit is wrong or missing, write to dave@clickshift.ca and it will be fixed.

Data drawn into the pages

  • Metro facts (housing stock, utilities, climate) come from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, NOAA climate normals and the utilities' own program pages, cited on each metro guide.
  • Program and rebate facts are checked against the official pages (U.S. Department of Energy, state energy offices, the IRS and utilities), with the verification date shown beside each one.
  • Test guides and the glossary draw on the EPA, ENERGY STAR, DOE and PNNL, ACCA, BPI, RESNET, the CPSC and the other sources listed under each entry.
  • Cooling benchmarks in the planner come from the EIA Residential Energy Consumption Survey (RECS 2020).
