In Health Canada's 2012 survey, none of the 89 homes tested in the Peel Regional Health Unit health region were above the guideline, a small sample that doesn't rule radon out. The larger 2024 Cross-Canada survey reports 4.5% (1 in 22) of houses at or above the guideline for Toronto Metro Area (Toronto CMA).

CCET Home Energy Coaching
Free one-on-one coaching (a 45-minute call, with follow-ups) from the Centre for Community Energy Transformation, a municipally funded nonprofit supported by the City of Brampton. It helps homeowners and renters prioritize upgrades, understand costs and find rebates. Open only to residents of Brampton, Mississauga and Caledon.
CCET Energy Retrofit Assistance (pilot)
Free pilot for qualifying Peel Region homeowners with high energy bills (for example, households that recently received government income support): a full EnerGuide home energy audit plus selected upgrades such as an air-source heat pump, heat pump water heater or insulation (averaging about $11,500 per household), at no cost and with no loan.
Peel Energy Grant Program (TRCA Climate Ready Homes / Building Up, supported by Peel Region)
New Peel Region-supported program for owners of detached, semi-detached and townhouse homes in Peel: free home energy assessments, free personalized energy case management and rebates for heat pump installations (amounts not yet published). TRCA's page says the application form and participant guide are 'coming soon', so it is not yet taking applications.
TRCA Climate Ready Homes consultation
Free roughly 60-minute home consultation on energy and water use, climate resilience and available rebates, for owners of detached, semi-detached and townhomes; all Peel Region residents are eligible. Participants choose one free incentive (for example, a DIY air-sealing kit) while supplies last; consultations are limited per neighbourhood.
